Hi
everyone, in this post I’m going to talk
about Simone de Beauvoir. She was born on January 9th in Paris. She
was a writer, professor and French philosopher. She wrote novels, essays,
biographies and monographs on political, social and philosophical topics. Her
thinking is part of existentialism and some works, such as “The second sex”, are
considered foundational elements of feminism.
She was the
Jean Paul Sartre’s couple and together founded
the “Modern Time” magazine whose first issue was published on October 15th, 1945 and was transformed into
a political and cultural reference half of twentieth-century French thought. Later,
published the novell “All men are mortal”
(1946) , “Trials for a moral ambiguity” and “America a day” (1948).
Her second
book “The second sex” (1949), as I mentioned earlier, it meant a theoretical
starting point for different feminist groups, and became a classic of
contemporary thought. In it he developed a story about the social status of
women and analyzed the different characteristics of male oppression.
I like her
because she was really cool!
This summer that happened I read her book " the torn woman " and stated the great talent that she was possessing to reflect and to transmit deep emotions in his writings
